Summary
Institute affiliate, Professor Elizabeth Linos, is collaborating with the City of Los Angeles’ i-team and the Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) to support unemployed Angelenos who are seeking training or employment opportunities. Linos is designing nudges that would reduce compliance and psychological costs associated with using LA’s WorkSource and YouthSource Centers. The intervention is primarily centered on young adults under age 34.
These experiments will contribute to our understanding of how economic shifts impact the career prospects of young adults. Linos will also track the demand for vocational training, and will be able to measure what barriers low-income populations face in attempting to gain employment.
